The eternal spring colours every single day the sky of Lanzarote in blue tones and in the night the sky shines with the bright light of the shimmering moon. The coast of Lanzarote is a sandy overall picture interrupted by volcanic cliffs:
The beaches take innumerable forms and structures and offer a great choice to the visitor.
Furthermore Lanzarote is a real paradise for water sports like sailing or surfing.
Popular sports include diving, fishing, surfing and water skiiing as well as mountaing biking, trekking, golf and tennis.
One of the special and differentiating circumstances of Lanzarote is the fact that the native artist César Manrique created and constructed the surroundings of it.
Due to that, buildings higher than two storeys were not to be found on the island for a long time. Nowadays in the tourist villages with high rising buildings are to be found slowly but surely as a tribute to tourism.
Yet another design characteristic of Manrique has been the same wallpaint - white - for the houses.
Originally in the fisher villages the shutters, doors and garden fences were supposed to be painted blue whereas in agricultural areas they should be painted green. By now there is a mixture of green, blue, brown and simply left in the natural state shutters, doors and garden fences. These circumstances give the surrounding a calm and quite ambiance in which one can easily find relaxation.
Another way of finding peace is by walking in the beautiful landscape of Lanzarote. The Papagayo-Beaches are lovely for swimming or lying on the white sand.
Standing on the Mirador del Río, one gets a well survey of the island.
Art lovers should visit the Jameos del Agua. Other lovely sightings for a day are:
the jardín de cactus, the national park Timanfaya, the winegrowing area La Geria, the Tropical park or the palm-valley close to Haría.
The general health service on Lanzarote is very well developed and as some english speaking german docotors have settled down in the holiday resorts, you can visit their clinical practice without any problem of understanding.
